Nevada Man to Answer Charges in 1974 Slaying
A Nevada man is to be arraigned today in the 1974 murder of a nurses’ aide found hanging in her Santa Ana apartment.
Louis Wiechecki, 62, could face life in prison if convicted of murdering Linda Cummings, 27. She was found Jan. 24, 1974, in her bedroom at the Aladdin Apartments, where Wiechecki worked as a maintenance man.
Based on his statements, her death was ruled a suicide but the case was reopened after Wiechecki was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the death of another Aladdin resident.
He was arrested in 2005 in Henderson, Nev., living under the name of David Louis Stanley.
