Loyola, L.A. Unified Join to Help Area Students

The Los Angeles Unified School District has partnered with Loyola Marymount University to improve academic performance for about 6,000 students in the Westchester area, officials announced Thursday.
The five-year partnership will provide seven Westchester elementary, middle and high schools with financial and professional support, said L.A. Unified Board President Marlene Canter.
Loyola Marymount is expected to contribute $150,000, while L.A. Unified will provide $50,000 a year.
