Older the movie, cheaper the ticket

Regarding “Movie release dates become hard to script” (June 11): Instead of spending more money on marketing and finding out ways to get people into theaters, how about decreasing movie ticket fees relative to how long the film has been out?

That way, instead of paying full price for admission for a three-week-old movie, the ticket prices variably fall. Empty seats would be filled, and a sharp drop off in attendance the following week would be less likely.
