Women’s daily primping rituals

Share

Re “Clinton’s lost face time,” Opinion, March 27

If Michael Kinsley spent more time primping, housekeeping and child-rearing, he would realize that these activities are not dreary, muddle-headed dead time but uplifting, grounding Zen time. Caretaking rituals, regardless of the gender practicing them, are a source of insight, compassion and strength that propel you through your day. One person’s drudgery is another person’s secret weapon. It all depends on your perspective. Off to shave my legs.

Qualities of a true leader shine through. They don’t need hours of artificial primping and preening. That truism applies to men and women alike. Does anybody remember Golda Meir? I rest my case.
