Grammy winner’s daughter is killed
The 5-year-old daughter of Grammy-winning Christian music star Steven Curtis Chapman was struck and killed by a sport utility vehicle driven by her teenage brother, authorities said in Nashville.
The girl, Maria, was hit in the driveway of the family’s home, said Laura McPherson, a highway patrol spokeswoman. The brother, whose name and exact age were not available, apparently didn’t see the child. Several family members witnessed the incident.
“It looks like a tragic accident,” McPherson said. No charges are expected.
