Convenient truths

Regarding your endorsement of Barack Obama, you have chosen sober leadership at a time when we can ill afford the alternative.

But when you say that Obama’s erudite speech and Harvard education represent “the nation as it is, and as it aspires to be,” I had to chuckle.

Which nation are you referring to? Surely, in 2008, we prefer convenience over justice, security over liberty, and comfort above all.
