Dole ruling: An article in Section A on Aug. 7 on papers filed that week as part of a lawsuit brought by Nicaraguan men against Dole Food Co. reported that a witness, Irving Jacinto Castro Aguero, said he had been paid $200 by Dole investigators for his testimony alleging fraud in the case. The article should have said Dole denies that it or its investigators paid Castro. The story also said that "most of the evidence of fraud" relied on by the judge in the case remains sealed from public view. The article should have said that "key evidence of fraud" remains sealed.
