Steamed on pork

Re “Washington porkers,” editorial, March 10

I found your editorial concerning earmarks in the current omnibus spending bill completely gutless. During the campaign, President Obama promised change and vowed to fight bills containing earmarks. This was the first real test of that commitment.

In addition to suggesting increased transparency and scrutiny, The Times should have taken a firm stand and insisted that Obama veto the bill.
