After working exclusively in the area of family law for approximately 20 years, Grace Jamra decided to open her own firm in early 2011, establishing an innovative family law practice designed to cost-effectively address the specific needs of each client.

On starting her own firm, Ms. Jamra stated, “I wanted to be more available to a wider array of clients and provide excellent legal services in a cost-effective fashion.”

With her background in economics and finance and her expertise in child custody matters and her reputation as a tenacious litigator, Ms. Jamra handles all aspects of family law matters, including complex dissolution proceedings involving custody, support, division of assets, business valuations and post-judgment matters.

In every case, Ms. Jamra always seeks an amicable resolution before resorting to litigation. “I try to convince my client and the other side to do what is necessary to exchange information voluntarily, avoid court intervention, if at all possible, and try to resolve matters amicably. If not, then court intervention is always an option.”

Jamra is AV Preeminent®-rated by Martindale-Hubbell® and has been named by her peers in Southern California Super Lawyers since 2003. She has also been recognized as one of the “Top 50 Women Attorneys in Southern California” by Super Lawyers since 2011. In 2008, her alma mater, Whittier Law School, awarded her its “Attorney of the Year” Alumni Award.

Ms. Jamra regularly speaks and writes on legal strategies and family law and is the former Chair for the Family Law Executive Committee of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, 2012-2013. She also serves on a number of charities, including organizations that strive to protect children’s rights.

Clients involved in family law disputes are facing a loss of time with their children, a loss of certain assets and, in some circumstances, a reduction in income. Sometimes they are facing problems with the taxing authorities, or in more serious cases, problems with domestic violence, addiction, special needs children and other such challenges. To navigate themselves through a divorce, clients need the guidance and experience of an attorney who is sympathetic and passionate about the case. But equally important, clients deserve to be educated about the process so that they can make the decisions that ultimately best suit them and their family.

It’s important to balance a client’s needs and priorities with the cost of litigation or settlement when representing someone going through a family law proceeding. In the end, it’s critical to educate the client about the process they are about to go through. It is equally important to give the clients the options on how to best be heard and understood regarding the issues that are important and paramount to them. With all the challenges that face a client going through unchartered territory, our goal is to educate and customize a cost-effective and solution-focused strategy for each client that revolves around the client’s individual needs and priorities as well as their budget.
