Suzuki orders GSX-R street bike recall, citing possible brake failure

Share

Suzuki Motor of America has issued a recall for as many as 210,000 units of its very popular 2004-13 GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 street bikes.

The company, citing potential GSX-R brake failure, said corrosion and old brake fluid might combine to reduce pressure in the front braking system, causing possible accidents.

The company will be contacting owners of affected units, and asking them to see their Suzuki dealers for a free replacement of the front master cylinder.

The GSX-R line is among Suzuki’s most popular, with units in production since 1984. The light, fast motorcycles, Suzuki’s flagship sport bike, come in 600cc, 750cc and 1100cc versions.
