The pop-up trend continues with a curated offering of gift-focused boutiques at the Holiday Collective at Row DTLA, the sprawling complex emerging in downtown Los Angeles.

Until the end of December, shoppers can drop in and out of 11 stores that have set up with offerings to suit the season. These include design-centric brands such as notNeutral, which has gifts for the coffee lover including espresso cups inspired by designs from the archives of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.

At This Is Ground, an engraver is standing by to monogram leather pouches and bags that efficiently carry all your devices and accessories. Thick books on holiday entertaining along with scented pillar candles and piles of glass holiday ornaments are on show at Rolling Greens.

There are hard-to-find items at Tokyobike like tea canisters that take a year to make and notebooks from Japanese cult brand Postalco. Capsule Home, which works with upcoming Los Angeles designers, has large furniture as well as small goods, like indigo print linens hand-crafted in India.

Milla Chocolates looks like an art gallery — shelves carry small jars of caramelized almonds with raspberry and pink sea salt.

Try to time a visit with the weekly Sunday Smorgasburg food and design fair on site. Free parking. Info: rowdtla.com
