What are Classifieds?
LA Times Classifieds are a classified advertising service helping you find and sell items whether you are a business or private party. Here are some of the key features:

  • You can browse listings or post an ad yourself in either Print, Online or both.
  • You can look for general items for sale, a car, home, job, or other item.
  • You can benefit from LA Time's enormous local and regional outreach

Where can I find pricing information?

Pricing options are available once you have selected your Classifieds Category. For more information on our commercial packages, contact our Classified Representatives.

General Merchandise Rates are as follows:

  • Full So. Calif. coverage for 4 days
    3 lines / 5 zones / 4 consecutive days in print and online for $52. Additional lines are $17.36 each.
  • Local Regional coverage for 4 days
    3 lines / 1 zone / 4 consecutive days in print and online for $12.36. Additional lines are $4.12 each.
  • Full So. Calif. coverage @ 8-day Discount
    3 lines / 5 zones / 8 consecutive days in print and online for $80. Additional lines are $26.64 each.
  • Local Regional coverage @ 8-day Discount
    3 lines / 1 zone / 8 consecutive days in print and online for $19.92. Additional lines are $6.64 each.

Am I an individual or a business?

Individual if you are a " private party" placing an ad for used merchandise. Click Business if you are selling new merchandise.

What day is best to place my ad?

Your " Best Value" is a Thursday through Sunday for 4-day packages and Sunday through Sunday for 8-day packages.

  • Sunday is the widest read day of the week, followed by Thursday through Saturday.
  • All run dates permitted thru this system must be sequential.
  • Simply click on the date you wish your ad to start and the system will automatically fill in the following number of days in your ad package.

Can I include a photo on my print ad?

Currently we are only accepting photos for our online Automotive ads.

You can submit up to 3 digital photos now, but it is not required. Once your ad is online you will receive an email from cars.com, you can post your photos then.

The following file formats are supported:

      • JPG, GIF, BMP, TIF, PNG, FPX, PCX

What are the accepted payment methods?

Ads require prepayment by major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover).

  • Provide the billing name and address that applies to your credit card account.
  • Please include your daytime phone number, if different from your billing phone number, so we will be able to contact you in the event we have any questions or problems with your order.
  • A few ad categories are " free" and credit card information will not be required for those categories.
  • Once you are done entering all required information click the " Submit Payment" button and you are done.

What are the deadlines?

Publishing Sunday or Monday:

  • Place your ad before 2:00 p.m. Friday.

Publishing any day Tuesday to Saturday:

  • Place your ad before 10:00 a.m. 1 day prior (all Pacific time).

Holidays may alter these deadlines.

What’ s the difference between Recycler and Los Angeles Times classified ads?

Private party Recycler ads in recycler.com and the Recycler publication are FREE. Recycler is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tribune company; and Recycler.com ads are linked from the latimes.com Classifieds home page.
