Welcome to Winter in Montana's Glacier Country!
Perhaps the most magical time to visit Glacier Country is during the winter. All the stunning scenery is still here, but covered with a beautiful layer of white. Believe it or not, our temperatures are rather mild during the winter. Because we're on the Western slopes of the Rockies, we're protected from most of the harsh, cold winds that create havoc. Expect an average between 23 and 40 degrees, although temperatures can change quickly (this is a mountain environment, after all).

Big Mountain Ski & Summer Resort
Since 1935, when locals first shouldered their planks and hiked up Big Mountain, pure has meant pristine views, chutes of powder, plenty of elbow room and unmatched skiing.

Today, an efficient lift system with high-speed quads makes the climb, but the purity remains: 3,000 acres of powder stashes, open glades, velvety groomers and surprisingly few people.

Big Mountain Resort also has the region's premier Snowsports Center with lessons for all sports and skill levels. We offer a wild terrain park, groomed Nordic trails and snowtubing.
