Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Mammoth Lakes

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Thursday morning nine miles from Mammoth Lakes, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 12:26 a.m. PDT at a depth of 6.8 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 73 miles from Clovis, Calif., 75 miles from Sanger and 78 miles from Reedley.

In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
