Letters: A young victim of the drug war

Share

Re “A remedy in limbo,” Column One, Sept. 14

If there’s one drug we should seriously consider criminalizing, it’s the one that’s being taken by the geniuses who would prevent a child like Jayden David from having access to a non-psychoactive component of marijuana. It seems further testing would be prudent, but it also seems that, for now, cannabidiol has wrought a miracle in the lives of this child and his parents in controlling terrible seizures that used to define his life.

What kind of moral perversity can convince someone that such cruelty can be considered righteous? Do we need to know any more to conclude that we need new leadership in determining policies about these issues?
