Briefs: Waves girls’ basketball tryouts on Aug. 29

Tryouts for the HB Waves Girls’ Basketball program will run Aug. 29 at Huntington Beach High (1905 Main Street). The tryouts session runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium.

Beach volleyball camp

A Beach Volleyball Summer Camp starts Monday and runs through Aug. 26 at Huntington State Beach (Pacific Coast Highway at Magnolia Street).

The camp is open to youth ages 6 through 18 (all skill levels) and runs in two sessions, morning (9:30-11:30 a.m.) and afternoon (1-3 p.m., no Friday sessions) Monday through Friday. Club-sponsored beach volleyball tournaments will be held every Friday. The cost is $180 for the week.
