Is Joe Flacco the best quarterback in the NFL? [poll]

Share

Joe Flacco believes he’s the best quarterback in the NFL. Who are we to doubt him?

After all, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback did just set the record for most passing yards in the NFL.... No, wait, that was Drew Brees.

All right, he threw for the second-most yards ever.... No, that was Tom Brady.

OK, he just won his second Super Bowl.... No, that was Eli Manning.

Oh, then he just made his fifth Super Bowl appearance.... Nope, Brady again.

Well, he must have at least one trip to the Super Bowl -- or maybe the pro bowl? No and no.

I know, he led the league in some impressive passing statistic last year? Not even close. He was 12th in total yards, tied for 13th in touchdown passes, 18th in quarterback rating and 26th in completion percentage.

Uh, gee. Why exactly is Flacco the best quarterback in the NFL then?

Because that’s the way he feels. That’s why.

“I assume everybody thinks they’re a top-five quarterback,” Flacco told WNST in Baltimore on Tuesday when asked where he ranks among NFL quarterbacks. “I mean, I think I’m the best. I don’t think I’m top five; I think I’m the best. I don’t think I’d be very successful at my job if I didn’t feel that way. I mean, c’mon? That’s not really too tough of a question.

“That doesn’t mean that things are going to work out that way. It just means that’s the way it is -- that’s the way I feel that it is and that’s the way I feel it should be.”
