The Envelope Roundtable Series Expands to Focus Spotlight on Directors and Music Producers

LOS ANGELES — The Envelope (http://theenvelope.com), The Los Angeles Times entertainment awards insider, will host two stellar events on Saturday, January 15th, bringing together six visionary filmmakers for its 2nd annual Directors Roundtable at The Times historic downtown building and undertaking the first Music Producers Roundtable at the Grammy® Museum. Both will be moderated by Times editorial staff, resulting in multimedia coverage including feature stories, video clips, podcasts and photos.

The Directors Roundtable will assemble 2011 award contenders Ben Affleck ("The Town"), Darren Aronofsky ("Black Swan"), Lisa Cholodenko ("The Kids Are All Right"), Ethan Coen ("True Grit"), David Fincher ("The Social Network") and Tom Hooper ("The King's Speech") for a closed-door conversation about their acclaimed movies led by Times film writer John Horn. Downtown at 6 p.m. the Music Producers Roundtable will be presented as a free and open-to-the-public event at the Grammy® Museum, where celebrated soundsmiths Alex Da Kid (Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie," B.o.B.'s "Airplanes"), Ari Levine (B.o.B.'s "Nothin' on You," Cee Lo Green's "Forget You") and RedOne (Lady Gaga's "Alejandro," "Poker Face" and "Bad Romance") will join Times pop music critic Ann Powers for a behind-the-scenes look at their lauded songs as well as the trends impacting what the world listens to.
