Total factory-to-dealer sales of consumer electronics will surpass $160 billion in 2007, according to forecasts released by the Consumer Electronics Assn. The group projected 8% industry growth for the year.
Accessories have emerged as a major booster to overall sales. The association predicts their sales will reach almost $9 billion in 2007.
But the largest contributor to sales continues to be display technologies, including televisions. The forecast calls for shipment totals of $26 billion for 2007, with more than 30 million digital televisions projected to ship by year’s end.
