Jeremy Renner lists Holmby Hills house remodel at $24.95 million
Everyone needs a hobby. Actor Jeremy Renner has put his latest house remodeling project on the market in Holmby Hills at $24.95 million.
The Roaring ‘20s Art Deco-style mansion includes a wine cellar, a theater, five fireplaces, six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and 10,005 square feet of living space. The two-acre property features gates, a cobblestone driveway and a swimming pool with spa.
Renner, 42, was nominated for Oscars for his work in “The Hurt Locker” (2008) and “The Town” (2010). He starred in “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” (2011) and “The Bourne Legacy” (2012). His latest film is “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.”
Renner has been buying and redoing homes with his business partner, actor Kristoffer Winters. This is their most ambitious undertaking to date.
The property was purchased in 2010 for $7 million, public records show.

Damon already knew a neighbor
Actor Matt Damon may have been a neighbor to “Good Will Hunting” pal Ben Affleck for several months now, but his purchase of an estate in Pacific Palisades for $15 million just appeared on the Multiple Listing Service after the first of the year.
Damon’s contemporary three-level house features 35-foot vaulted mahogany ceilings, an atrium, a floating stairway, an office and a gym. Including staff quarters, there are seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and 13,508 square feet of living space. The more than half an acre property includes a swimming pool, a basketball court and a five-car garage.
Damon, 42, co-wrote “Good Will Hunting” with Affleck and shared an Oscar for the screenplay in 1998. They became friends growing up in Cambridge, Mass. He stars in the film “Promised Land” and the upcoming HBO Liberace biopic “Behind the Candelabra.” He also starred in “The Adjustment Bureau” (2011), “True Grit” (2010) and the Jason Bourne film trilogy (2002-07).

House goes and marriage stays
Vanessa Bryant sold a Newport Coast house for $3.22 million right before she and Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant called off their divorce. The Mediterranean-style house was signed over to her as part of her settlement and went on the market in September at $3.75 million.
The mountain-view house was built in 1999 and sits on about a quarter of an acre in a gated community where the Bryants have two other houses. Features include an office/library, five fireplaces, balconies, five bedrooms, a bonus room and 5.5 bathrooms. There is a spa, an outdoor fireplace and a built-in barbecue.
Public records show the Bryants bought the property in 2003 for $2.65 million.

Actor Larry Hagman’s penthouse in Santa Monica is on the market at $5.2 million.
The two-bedroom, three-bathroom pied-a-terre is in a building constructed in 1963 and includes 3,029 square feet of living space. The contemporary-style condo has views of the ocean and three parking spaces. Amenities include 24-hour security, a swimming pool and a gym.
Hagman, who died last year at 81, entertained generations of television viewers on “I Dream of Jeannie” (1965-70) and “Dallas” (1978-91). He reprised his role as J.R. Ewing on the current TNT series.
The property last changed hands in 1996 for $1.45 million, public records show.

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin’s condominium in Westwood is up for sale at $3.3 million.
Built in 1990, the three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom condo features an open floor plan, floor-to-ceiling windows and two balconies. The corner unit has 3,143 square feet of living space.
Aldrin, 82, was one of the first astronauts to walk on the moon in 1969.
He paid $1.34 million for the property in 1998, public records show.

A mammoth sale in Malibu
The family of philanthropist Max Palevsky has sold his mansion in Malibu for $36.5 million.
The Mediterranean villa sits on 6.62 acres with 339 feet of beachfront, a swimming pool, a spa, a lighted tennis court with a half bathroom and a guesthouse. There are two offices, a theater, seven bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms and 11,313 square feet of living space.
Palevsky, who died in 2010 at 85, was an early computer magnate and an arts supporter. He helped found Scientific Data Systems, a builder of mainframe computers that he sold to Xerox Corp. in 1969, and establish chip maker Intel Corp.
