Nick Bakay sells condo in West Hollywood for $2 million
There's no catting around on this: Comedian and actor Nick Bakay has purred his way into a bigger house.
Bakay, who was the voice of the black cat Salem on "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," just sold his condo in Sierra Towers in West Hollywood for $2 million. Good thing, since Bakay and his wife, Robin, paid $4,605,000 for a Hollywood house in June.
The Sierra Towers unit he sold has two bedrooms and three bathrooms. The building, on the western end of the Sunset Strip, is full service, with a pool and upscale amenities. It has been home to celebrities who include Cher, Matthew Perry, Lindsay Lohan and Joan Collins.
The home that the Bakays bought has three bedrooms and four bathrooms. It was built in 1939 and has 2,845 square feet. Bakay, 49, played Salem Saberhagen, Sabrina's sharp-witted talking kitty, for 163 episodes of "Sabrina" from 1996 to 2003. The cat, not unlike the man who voiced him, is a big sports fan. Bakay's Manly House of Football column appears weekly on NFL.com. He contributes regularly to the NFL Network and was an original member of the network's Hollywood Fantasy League.
He also played Karl on " 'Til Death" (2007-08) and Gus on "The King of Queens" (2002-05), and he was the voice of Norbert on "The Angry Beavers" (1997-2001).
