Could Apple’s next ‘special event’ be Oct. 15?

Share

The latest iPhones have yet to release but already, talk of Apple’s next big event has kicked off.

According to France’s MacGeneration, an Apple news site, the Cupertino, Calif., tech giant will hold a “special event” Oct. 15.

MacGeneration has a spotty track record when it comes to Apple rumors, so take its report with a grain of salt. But this is the first time a date has been thrown out on the Web predicting Apple’s next event.

After announcing the iPad mini and the fourth-generation iPad last October, Apple may do the same this October. Expectations are for the second generation of the iPad mini and a redesigned iPad, which is believed to be thinner and sleeker.

Apple could also announce a handful of new Mac computers and release OS X Mavericks — the latest version of its computer software — next month.

For now, the focus is on the two new iPhone models, which go on sale in stores Friday, but you might expect even more Apple news once October rolls around.
