First trailer for Steve Jobs movie with Ashton Kutcher released

At last, the trailer you’ve all been waiting for (or haven’t been waiting for, as the case may be) is here.

The movie is officially called “Jobs,” and stars Ashton Kutcher as da’ man. It costars Josh Gad as Apple cofounder Steve “The Woz” Wozniak.

The flick was scheduled to be released in April, but was delayed until Aug. 16.

From a first look at the 2-minute trailer, it looks like the movie will hew closer to myth than fact when it comes to telling the Jobs story.

Woz, the guy who actually built the original Apple computers, might be a tad dismayed to see one of the lines that proclaims: “It only takes one person to start a revolution.” Because, you know, it took two.

The trailer also includes the scene of Jobs being fired. It’s an iconic moment that didn’t actually happen. Despite the Silicon Valley myths, Apples chief executive and board didn’t fire Jobs. He was removed from overseeing any operations (after the original Mac proved to be a business failure) and was placed in charge of Apple’s research division.

Jobs decided not to accept the change, and resigned to start NeXT Computing.

Still, nobody has ever accused Hollywood of letting the facts get in the way of a good story. Here’s the trailer. Let us know what you think.
