Galaxy S5 to be unveiled in February, Samsung image seems to tease

Share

Later this month Samsung will hold a press event where it is expected to unveil a new device, and on Tuesday, the company released an image that seems to imply the upcoming gadget will be the Galaxy S5.

The South Korean tech giant is scheduled to make an announcement on Feb. 24 at the Mobile World Congess conference in Spain. Samsung revealed the official invitation in a blog Tuesday, and the image is scattered with the number “5.”

The invitation reads “Unpacked” with a number “5” at the end, like an exponent. In all likeliness, this means the tech giant plans to unveil the fifth version of its popular flagship Android smartphone later this month.

The invitation also includes nine icons that read “Speed,” “Outdoor,” “Curiosity,” “Fun,” “Social,” “Style,” “Privacy,” “Fitness,” and “Life” -- all to the fifth power.

The invitation also features a design style that matches that of an interface posted on Twitter last month by a user who claims Samsung plans to overhaul the look of the software on its main line of Galaxy devices.

The announcement is set for 12 p.m. PST on Feb. 24 and can be viewed online on YouTube.
