Samsung unveils Galaxy Gear, Galaxy Note III and Galaxy Note 10.1

Samsung dived into the world of wearable technology Wednesday by announcing the Galaxy Gear smartwatch along with the Galaxy Note III hybrid tablet smartphone and a new Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.

At a press event in Berlin, the South Korean tech giant unveiled the Galaxy Gear, which connects with smartphones to let users see incoming text messages as well as make and receive voice calls.

Alongside the smartwatch, Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Note III, the latest version of its tablet/smartphone hybrid device.

Samsung concluded its announcements by unveiling a new version of its Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.

Samsung said the three devices will be available in 149 countries starting Sept. 25. They will be available worldwide by October.
