According to preliminary numbers from Nielsen, the series premiere drew more than 10 million viewers and more than doubled ratings from last year's debut of
"Sleepy Hollow," about a Revolutionary War hero who wakes up in modern-day upstate New York, scored a rating of 3.4 among advertiser-coveted 18- to 49-year-olds, up 127% from the beginning episode of "Mob Doctor," which was canceled. "Sleep Hollow" was Fox's highest-rated premiere of a fall drama since 2007.
The show also got the highest 18-49 rating Monday night.
Fox won the night in the 18-49 demographic with a rating of 2.8. The network also debuted the ninth season of
"Dancing with the Stars," now in its 17th season, also premiered Monday, with celebrity contestants including "High School Musical" star Corbin Blue,
