This epic tale set at sea using overwhelming special effects, with a contemporary story serving as a framing device, recalls 1997's "Titanic." As unbelievable as the computer-generated imagery was in each film, the most powerful moments were found in the intimate story at its heart. And even "Titanic" went 3-D eventually.
