Johnny Depp has boldly gone where Kim Kardashian went before him. And no, we don’t mean with a booty-baring selfie -- though we wouldn’t kick one of those out of bed for eating crackers.

Depp, like Kardashian, has turned his dark tresses blond. A sort of blond, at least, as can be seen in the photo above.

The actor, known for his unique sense of style, showed off his striking fair hair over the weekend in London at an event that included a BFI Fellowship award for Christopher Lee, his costar in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Sleepy Hollow” and “Dark Shadows.” The award is the British Film Institute’s highest honor.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star was a surprise guest presenter at the 57th BFI London Film Festival Awards Night on Saturday, according to the Hollywood Reporter, which quoted Depp as calling Lee “a true gentleman,” “a national treasure” and “a true artist.”

After a long standing ovation, THR said, Lee told Depp — who’s currently filming “Into the Woods,” in which he plays the Wolf — “I didn’t know you were going to be here. It is a very emotional moment for me, as you can probably hear.”

But enough of the touching, mushy stuff. What do you think of Johnny’s hair?
