Melissa Rycroft hurts her neck, may not perform on ‘DWTS’

Melissa Rycroft is the latest “Dancing With the Stars” contestant to fall victim to injury, making her uncertain as a performer on Monday night’s show.

Rycroft, who finished third on “DTWS” Season 8 after gaining fame getting dumped on “The Bachelor,” earned herself a trip to the hospital Sunday after hurting her head and neck during a group-dance rehearsal.

“We can confirm Melissa was diagnosed with a disc herniation at the C4-C5 level of her cervical spine,” her rep told People on Monday. “At this time, Melissa’s ability to perform in tonight’s show will be a show time decision.”

Video shows Rycroft, 29, first wincing in pain after being pulled through partner Tony Dovolani’s legs in the camera-blocking rehearsal, then being taken away strapped to a back board, much like Kristin Chenoweth was when she hit her head after being whacked by a wind-whipped piece of lighting equipment on the set of “The Good Wife” back in August.

Chenoweth, who was still tweeting about physical therapy earlier this month, had “a skull fracture, rib issue and neck issue and a hip issue,” she said in September. “I’m issue-ridden, but I’m getting better.”

Chenoweth was, however, unable to complete her character’s story arc on “The Good Wife.”
