Scott Baio and his wife Renee are facing another health challenge in their family: She’s been diagnosed with a tumor in the lining of her brain.

“Renee has a meningioma brain tumor,” the “See Dad Run” actor said this week on Facebook. “Although 90% of these type of tumors are benign they can cause serious problems depending on the size of the tumor and the location. We are waiting to learn the exact location to see if its operable.”

Renee Baio told People she wants to be open about her health situation in the hopes of educating others.

“I’ve been suffering from migraines and cluster headaches for almost two years and was told that because I am over 40 and premenopausal, my hormones had changed,” she told the magazine.

“Unfortunately, a lot of women are given this explanation and they need to get checked out – an MRI did not pick up the tumor, but an MRI with contrast spotted it.”

The couple played a similar waiting game for test results in 2007, after newborn daughter Bailey, now 7, tested positive for a rare metabolic disorder that would have had lifelong ramifications.

It was 10 weeks before the initial results were revealed to have been a false positive, but the parents were shaken enough by the experience to set up a foundation that supports newborn screening and raises money to assist children and families who are dealing with metabolic disorders.

“Renee has been down some rough roads in her life, yet each time with her strong faith in God, she comes through a better and stronger person,” the “Happy Days” veteran wrote. “During this time we ask for your prayers and support. My wife is my rock. She refuses to even shed one tear, nor will she question God’s will.”

The woman who turned the title of a reality show from “Scott Baio Is 45 ... and Single” to “Scott Baio is 46 ... and Pregnant” had a successful lumpectomy in 2010 after being diagnosed with with early-stage breast cancer, People said. She’s had a couple of lumpectomies since then, with test results coming back benign.

Baio, 54, said he and his wife, 42, would “get through this” -- Bailey too -- and solicited a little love on Twitter: “Sometimes God throws you a curve ball. If any extra prayers, give them to @MrsScottBaio Thanks.”
