It's a little science fiction, a little mystery, a little adventure, a little melodrama and a little comedy -- chances are you connect with certain elements and tolerate the rest. And true to that eclectic mix of genres, "Lost's" creators have publicly acknowledged the diversity of their inspirations in creating the sprawling series. Did that character's name sound familiar? All these references are lost on me. I can honestly say that I have not seen even a minute of the show. Did I miss something?
