Fox’s “X-Men” spin-off movie “Gambit,” starring Channing Tatum as the card-throwing Cajun superhero, will be released Oct. 7, 2016.

Letting les bon temps rouler in fall 2016 means the studio will have three installments of the blockbuster “X-Men” franchise hitting theaters next year. The other two are “Deadpool” with Ryan Reynolds on Feb. 2 and “X-Men: Apocalypse” with Oscar Isaac on May 27.

Fox also has set or shifted dates for the next “Planet of the Apes” movie, the sequel to its “Fantastic Four” reboot, the comedy “Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates,” the video-game adaptation “Assassin’s Creed,” the P.T. Barnum biopic “The Greatest Showman on Earth” and the romantic drama “The Mountain Between Us.”

The follow-up to 2014’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” has been pushed back a year and will now open July 14, 2017. To make room for that film, Fox moved its planned “Fantastic Four” sequel up six weeks, to June 2, 2017.

“Mike and Dave,” a comedy about two brothers looking for wedding dates online, will fill the vacated “Apes” slot on July 29, 2016.

“Assassin’s Creed,” starring Michael Fassbender, is to open Dec. 21, 2016, and “Greatest Showman,” starring Hugh Jackman, is to open Christmas Day 2016. Finally, “Mountain Between Us,” with Charlie Hunnam and Rosamund Pike, has been set for release Feb. 10, 2017.
