Liam Neeson is known for his very particular set of skills, and soon moviegoers will see if he’s equipped to deal with a foul-mouthed teddy bear.

The Los Angeles Times has confirmed that the grizzled bad-guy slayer has joined the cast of “Ted 2,” the sequel to the profane 2012 comedy about a grown man (Mark Wahlberg) whose best buddy is a pot-smoking stuffed animal brought to life by a boyhood wish.

Along with Neeson, “Mad Men” star John Slattery has also come aboard the film, as HitFix first reported. No details about either actor’s role have been revealed.

“Ted 2” will reunite Neeson with writer-director-star Seth MacFarlane (who voices the eponymous bear) after the two shared the screen in the comedy western “A Million Ways to Die in the West.” That film met a rather grisly fate at the box office, grossing just under $43 million domestically on a $40-million production budget.

The original “Ted,” on the other hand, was a surprise hit that took in $549 million worldwide and was the highest-grossing R-rated movie of 2012.

In addition to Neeson, Slattery, MacFarlane and Wahlberg, the “Ted 2” cast includes Amanda Seyfried and Morgan Freeman. On Wednesday, MacFarlane tweeted: “Yesterday Liam Neeson, today Morgan Freeman. Not a bad week for #Ted2.”

Universal will release “Ted 2” on June 26, 2015.
