One didn't have to leave the state of California in 2009 to experience the very best in world theater, although Angelenos would have benefited from a couple of trips to the Bay Area. "Next to Normal" and <a href="http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/culturemonster/2009/12/moving-the-masses-fela-on-broadway.html"><B>“Fela!”</B></a> -- for my money, the two best new Broadway musicals of 2009 -- will no doubt make it to Southern California before long. In the meantime, here's a recap of my sunniest Golden State moments.
