Princely ode, Al’s earthly crusade come in concert

You should talk about: Princess Di. She would have turned 46 today and to celebrate, her sons host a big concert in her honor cleverly called “Concert for Diana.” The bill is a mix of old standbys (Elton John, Rod Stewart), current pop stars (Lily Allen, Nelly Furtado) and a sprinkling of hip-hop artists (Pharrell Williams, Kanye West). The concert, which benefits Diana’s Memorial Fund and a number of other charities, takes place at Wembley Stadium in London, and NBC broadcasts it here. (Tonight)

You’ll think about: “License to Wed.” We’re not sure what to make of this movie about a young couple that gets put through a crazy premarital program by a wacky reverend (Robin Williams). We love John Krasinski from “The Office” (Jim!) and his costar Mandy Moore is sweet (like candy!). Director Ken Kwapis used to direct “The Larry Sanders Show” (Artie!), but Robin Williams is so insane (and hairy!). (Tuesday)

You’ll hear about: Gores. Al continues his crusade for the planet with his series of Live Earth concerts taking place across the world next weekend. NBC airs highlights. Around the same time, Al’s youngest daughter, Kristin (“the funny one”), releases “Sammy’s House,” the second book in her young-lady-in-Washington series. (Saturday, Tuesday)

We’ll talk about: “The Clique.” “Sealed With a Diss” is the eighth title in the tween-friendly “The Clique” paperback series written by Lisi Harrison. It’s like an update of “Sweet Valley High” for the Bratz generation. The books are loaded with designer clothing names and Starbucks references and the stories are set in Westchester, N.Y. Reviewers don’t love the books, but we love their titles. No. 2 is called “Best Friends for Never.” (Monday)

You could talk about: “American Idols” celebrate American Independence. Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis and sweet, sweet Melinda Doolittle perform at “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular,” airing on NBC. Oooh. Aahhh. (Wednesday)
