Radcliffe back on stage

Daniel Radcliffe is returning to Broadway, this time to sing and dance.

The star of all those Harry Potter movies will appear in a revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” opening in spring 2011.

Radcliffe will portray the show’s unlikely hero, an opportunistic young man who rises from the mailroom to the top of the corporate heap in this satiric, Pulitzer Prize-winning musical. It features a score by Frank Loesser and a book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert.

Radcliffe made his Broadway debut in 2008 in a revival of “Equus.”

No tea for Sean Hannity

Fox News executives ordered host Sean Hannity to abandon plans to broadcast his nightly show as part of a Tea Party rally in Cincinnati on Thursday after they learned he was set to headline the event, proceeds from which would benefit the local Tea Party organization.

Rally organizers had listed Hannity, who is on a book tour, as the headliner of the four-hour Tax Day event at the University of Cincinnati. Participants were being charged a minimum of $5, with seats near Hannity’s set going for $20, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer, which reported that any profits would go to future Tea Party events.

Senior Fox News executives said they were not aware Hannity was being billed as the centerpiece of the event or that Tea Party organizers were charging for admission.

“Fox News never agreed to allow the Cincinnati Tea Party organizers to use Sean Hannity’s television program to profit from broadcasting his show from the event,” said Bill Shine, the network’s executive vice president of programming. “When senior executives in New York were made aware of this, we changed our plans for tonight’s show.”

Hannity was recalled to New York to do his show in his regular studio. The network plans to do an extensive post-mortem about the incident with Hannity’s staff.

DJ will be on radio and TV

Comic Steve Harvey is bringing his morning radio show to television.

The simulcast will begin this fall on Centric, the spinoff network to BET that appeals to older viewers. Harvey’s radio program is heard locally on KJLH-FM (102.3). He’ll also be seen on television this fall as host of the syndicated “Family Feud” game show.

BET also said that Academy Award winner Mo’Nique will return for a second season of late-night comedy.

Eminem says no to sequel

Eminem had a relapse in 2009. He was going to have another this year, but his label says he instead decided to head for recovery.

Interscope Records says the Detroit rap superstar’s new album, called “Recovery,” will be released June 22.

It will come out just over a year after his last album, “Relapse,” which debuted atop the Billboard Top 200 chart and eventually went platinum.

Eminem initially planned to release “Relapse 2” in 2010, but in the record company’s Thursday statement says that as he worked and recorded with new producers, the idea of a sequel made “less and less sense.”

Seagal taken off patrol

Production has been halted on the A&E series “Steven Seagal: Lawman” because of allegations raised in a lawsuit against the actor.

Kayden Nguyen of California filed suit this week alleging she was held captive by Seagal and treated like a “sex toy” during the taping of the television show while working as the actor’s executive assistant. The Jefferson Parish (Louisiana) Sheriff’s Office, where Seagal works as a reserve deputy, said that, as a result, it was shutting down production.

A spokesman for A&E said the network had no comment on the lawsuit but added that if the legal issues are resolved and production is allowed to proceed, the show will likely make a return.

Calls to Sheriff Newell Normand and to Seagal’s lawyer, Marty Singer, were not immediately returned. But in a statement to TMZ, Singer called Nguyen’s lawsuit a “complete fabrication without a scintilla of truth.”
