As much as music is the thing itself, it also stirs culture: socially, visually, stylistically. "The Art of British Rock" shows the evolution of poster art, turning its focus to the kind of visual ephemera that started out as disposable then became works of art themselves. This $35 book from Frances Lincoln Publishers shows posters from the 1960s to the present, with visuals that begin tame and quickly get psychedelic, then punk and garish and new wave, subtle and computer-enhanced and then psychedelic again.
