CW announces summer premiere dates
'America's Next Top Model' is still on, with its 21st cycle premiering this summer

Why spend the summer out by the pool when you can watch it on TV? The CW announced premiere dates -- among them is the "iHeartRadio Ultimate Pool Party." Grab your floaties.

But first the network returns with new episodes of "Beauty and the Beast" and "Whose Line is it Anyway" on Monday. It will then roll out five new shows -- including reality series "Famous in 12" and "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" -- and a couple of TV specials.

Continuing its multiyear partnership with Clear Channel Media & Entertainment, the CW will air the "iHeartRadio Ultimate Pool Party" on Wednesday, July 9. It's billed as a "daytime and nighttime Miami pool party and concert," featuring performances from not-yet-announced "top musical acts" and appearances by CW stars.

A few weeks later, the network will broadcast the Young Hollywood Awards. The program, which aims to honor the stars of tomorrow, is in its 16th year -- and its second consecutive year being aired by the CW. The event, held in Los Angeles on July 28, is executive-produced by Jay Penske, the founder and CEO of Penske Media Corp.

It all gets the prime-time grid ready for the 21st -- yes, twenty-first! -- cycle of "America's Next Top Model" -- if cycles equated to years, we could buy the reality vet a drink. Premiering Friday, Aug. 22, the show will give the unisex approach another go with a new edition of "Guys and Girls." And helping to ring in the new cycle will be one of its original team members, J. Alexander -- who reprises his role as catwalk coach and judge after getting the boot from the show in its 18th cycle.
