Earlier this week, actress Sonia Manzano, who has played the beloved "Maria" on Sesame Street for 44 years, announced that she was leaving the show.

And once news began to circulate Thursday that the favorite co-owner of the show's Fix-It Shop was retiring, the Internet exploded with all the feels.

Denial

Some refused to believe it.

Some were experiencing denial of a completely different kind.

Anger

Then came the ALL-CAPS.

Bargaining

Others figured there must be some way around it.

Depression

And then, there were those who just let all their emotions hang out.

Acceptance

In the end, plenty of fans gave Manzano a warm send-off, sharing treasured memories from their childhood.

And maybe one last plea to come back.
