Jenna Bush-Hager turns reality-show host

Jenna Bush-Hager, the former first daughter and “Today” show correspondent, is flirting with Phil Keoghan territory as she steps in as guest host for one episode of the Yahoo reality competition series “Plugged In.”

The series, which airs on Yahoo Screen, pits teams of two in a series of challenges in various American cities in an attempt to win a new electric car from Ford, a series co-producer.

Although each episode features a different city and a different celebrity host, Bush-Hager is one of the more high-profile (and non-Hollywood) hosts, which include David Arquette, Alicia Silverstone, Bill Rancic and J.R. Martinez.

Bush-Hager will take the contestants around her old stamping grounds of Austin, Texas, for challenges that will show off the State Capitol building, the Austin Public Library and Lady Bird Lake, among other places.

“Plugged In” is part of an ever-increasing number of online original programs shown on Yahoo. Their scripted comedy series “Burning Love” starring Ken Marino premiered June 3. “Plugged In” debuted a week earlier, on May 29.
