Year in review: 13 things we said goodbye to in 2012

2012 was an eventful year in Southern California and around the world. Among the elections, olympiads and new frontiers were endings. Some happy, some sad -- and 13 worth noting as the calendar turns. So here are a baker’s dozen of the things we lost -- or perhaps said “good riddance” to? -- in 2012. And if our list has left out something you’ll miss in 2013, let us know in the comments.

Anthony Bourdain ended his seven-year run on “No Reservations,” his travel and food show, with a bang. On his way out from the Travel Channel, he ripped the station’s executives for “cynically and cheaply” repurposing footage from his show for advertising.
