Nancy Silverton leads all-star chefs for ‘Field to Fork’ at the Taste

One of the bonafide highlights of this year’s Los Angeles Times food festival The Taste will be “Field to Fork” on Saturday, Aug. 30, hosted by this year’s winner of the Outstanding Chef award from the James Beard Foundation, Nancy Silverton of the Mozza Group, and Times food editor Russ Parsons.

The two will be featuring cooking with your farmers market finds and the incredible bounty of ingredients available to Los Angeles chefs. To that end, they’ve invited a panel of chefs to participate in the discussion, namely Josiah Citrin of Mélisse in Santa Monica, pastry chef Roxana Jullapat of Cooks County in Los Angeles, jam queen Jessica Koslow of Sqirl in Silverlake, and mixologist Vincenzo Marianella of Copa d’Oro in Santa Monica.

Chefs Bruce Kalman of Union in Pasadena, C.J. Jacobson of Girasol in Studio City, and Tal Ronnen of Crossroads in Los Angeles will be doing cooking demonstrations throughout the afternoon.

Among the restaurants serving food will be Loteria Grill, Akasha, Coni’Seafood, Lum-Ka-Naad and Eveleigh.

The event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Paramount Pictures Studios. Tickets are $100 ($75 for L.A. Times members), and are available online. Ticket price includes food, beer, wine and spirits tastings, plus access to demos and presentations.
