Planning to run the Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday? Ready for 26.2 miles? Ready for the recovery afterward? A run that long takes preparation to get a body through it without problems beyond the expected aches and pains.

The Los Angeles Times’ Mary MacVean will talk with three physicans from the USC Keck Medical School about preparing for and recovering from a marathon run. The live chat, which begins at 4:30 p.m. PDT, is open to everyone, and anyone can ask questions. The topics are up to you: the right shoes, eating before and after the run, what to do about injuries or other issues.
