South L.A. violence: In the July 28 Section A, an article about violence in South Los Angeles was accompanied by an inaccurate map. The detail portion showing the locations of recent shootings was correct, but the area depicted was shown too far south on the inset map. A corrected map is online at latimes.com/SouthLA-violence.

Calexico police chief: In the July 27 Section A, an article about a former LAPD official who is now police chief of Calexico, Calif., referred to California as having two official border crossings with Mexico. It is Calexico that has two official crossings; there are six in California.

LaGuardia Airport: In the July 28 Section A, an article about a planned overhaul of LaGuardia Airport referred to New York Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia’s landing 76 years ago at Newark Liberty International Airport. At the time, the airport was called Newark Metropolitan Airport.
