LACMA co-chair Elaine Wynn seeks $25 million for lodge-retreat in Idaho

Businesswoman and philanthropist Elaine Wynn, who serves as co-chair of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, has put her lodge in the resort city of Sun Valley, Idaho, on the market for $25 million.

Set on about 12 scenic acres, the estate custom was built for Wynn and her former husband, billionaire Steve Wynn. Open range and the Bigwood River abut the property, providing a natural layer of privacy.

At the heart of the property is a two-story lodge of more than 15,000 square feet with four bedrooms and six bathrooms. Blending elements of log cabin style with European accoutrements, the residence features thick beams, custom millwork and various polished- wood details.

Among the common areas is a great room with a centerpiece stone fireplace that extends from floor to ceiling. A formal dining room features an oval-shaped coffered ceiling, and a lounge/den has a half-circle wet bar. There’s also a massive eat-in kitchen, a theater room, a gym, a library and a dedicated massage room.

The master suite boasts two of the home’s six fireplaces.

Outdoors, a large stone patio surrounds various sitting areas, a fire pit and a plunge pool. A large pavilion sits across from the home and has another stone fireplace. Rolling lawns, forested acres and mountain views complete the idyllic setting.

Tom Drougas of Sun Valley Real Estate holds the listing.

Wynn, 74, co-founded Mirage Resorts and Wynn Resorts with her former husband. A noted art collector, she became co-chair of LACMA last year and has since pledged $50 million toward a modernist-building project for the museum.
