Man fatally shot near downtown L.A. gas station

A man was fatally shot late Tuesday near a Los Angeles gas station, police said.

The shooting occurred about 10:40 p.m. near Central Avenue and Washington Boulevard, LAPD Officer Sandra Infante said.

Preliminary reports indicate a dispute erupted between three men at a gas station, police said. Two of the men shot a third man, and the shooters remain at large.

The victim, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
