Opinion: Even Trump voters are getting tired of his antics

To the editor: I was one of many citizens who helped President-elect Donald Trump acquire his next job, and I influenced a lot of people to vote like me. I gave Trump my vote for several reasons, with one being that he says what’s on his mind instead of sanitizing and politically correcting everything before it leaves his mouth. (“Donald Trump’s transition has hurt his popularity, not helped,” Jan. 18)

Now that Trump is about to become president, I believe it is very important for him to stop with the petty tweets, speeches and grudge-settling with critics like Meryl Streep. There are more people who are over his non-presidential behaviors than he thinks.

After the campaigning was over, I was hoping to see a man with a “new-and-improved” attitude and a presidential temperament. This office requires an eloquent speaker with very thick skin and a mature philosophy with respect to world leadership and the equality of Americans.

I start to distrust Trump when he insists something did not happen when there is video evidence showing clearly that it did. There might have been some unfair practices against Trump since he won the election last November, but now he must get over them and reassure the voters that they did the right thing for the right reasons.
