Giants put Hunter Pence on disabled list

The San Francisco Giants put outfielder Hunter Pence on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.

Pence missed six starts with another right hamstring injury before returning Saturday. This time, the injury could keep Pence on the disabled list longer than two weeks.

Manager Bruce Bochy said Pence “did a pretty good job on it. That’s a shame.”

Jarrett Parker replaced Pence in right field Thursday against Atlanta. Pence is tied for fifth in the National League with 36 RBIs.
