Wednesday’s bowl game

Poinsettia: Brigham Young (8-4) vs. Wyoming (8-5), at San Diego, 6 p.m., ESPN — BYU is going with a new quarterback who is really an old quarterback. Sophomore Tanner Mangum set several freshman passing records — throwing for 3,337 yards and 23 touchdowns — for the Cougars last season, taking over after Taysom Hill suffered a season-ending injury. Hill won the starting job back this season, but he won’t play in this game because of an elbow injury. BYU has won seven of its last eight games, the only loss by a point to Boise State. Wyoming has lost three of its last four, including the Mountain West Conference title game, at home, to a San Diego State team it defeated two weeks earlier. The pick: BYU, 31-23.
