Former USC tailback Javorius Allen will compete to back up eight-year NFL veteran Justin Forsett when the Baltimore Ravens open training camp Thursday at their training facility in Owings Mills, Md.

Allen, whom the Ravens picked in the fourth round of the NFL draft in May, is among five backs on the roster.

Forsett rushed for 1,266 yards and eight touchdowns in 16 games during the 2014 season.

Lorenzo Taliaferro from Coastal Carolina and Fitzgerald Toussaint from Michigan both have one season of NFL experience with the Ravens.

Taliaferro rushed for 292 yards and four touchdowns last season and Fitzgerald played sparingly in four games.

The Ravens signed Terrence Magee from Louisiana State Shreveport as an undrafted free agent in May.

Allen, who left USC with a season of eligibility remaining, rushed for 1,489 yards and 11 touchdowns during the 2014 season. He also caught 41 passes for 458 yards and a touchdown.

The Ravens open the season against the Denver Broncos on Sept. 13 at Mile High Stadium in Denver.
